A Memory Captured in Scent

First of all, Valencia has so much of what I love about Spain in one place. For example, there is beautiful architecture, museums, great bars and restaurants, the famous Agua de Valencia and, of course, the home of paella.

In addition, Valencia has something many city-break destinations cannot offer so easily: the beach. As a result, you can spend time discovering the historic city and then head towards the Mediterranean for an entirely different atmosphere.

In particular, one of my favourite memories is cycling slowly through the Jardins del Turia towards the sea on a warm spring day. Along the way, bridges, water features, ponds, turtles and performing buskers gave the former riverbed a character unlike anywhere else.

Then there are landmarks such as the historic Serranos Towers, sitting comfortably alongside the modern side of Valencia. However, throughout the city, that combination of warmth, citrus and Mediterranean life seems to connect everything together.
